Track record

A new plant in Tangier – built in the middle of the pandemic.

In autumn 2020 the decision was made to build a new production site in Morocco. Construction started in Tanger Automotive City in February 2021, and around five months after groundbreaking the first production was running.

As CEO of SCS Stahlschmidt Cable Systems, Friedemann Faerber was responsible for building the plant and relocating production from Germany, Poland and Hungary. In June 2022 the plant was officially inaugurated in the presence of Morocco’s Minister of Industry. In 2025 Friedemann Faerber was one of the winners of the first HANNOVER MESSE Africa Leadership Award for this project.

Profile

Engineer. Corporate manager. Entrepreneur. CEO.

Friedemann Faerber has known the Mittelstand since childhood: already at school and during his studies he worked in sales at his parents’ engineering company. At Bosch he was responsible for customers and markets in Germany, Italy and China; as a restructuring consultant he guided companies through crises – and since 2018 he has been leading companies himself.

Approach

How I work

Clarity makes change manageable. This is what sets FAERBER apart from classic consulting:

Results before presentations

What counts is what arrives in the plant, on the balance sheet and at the customer – not how thick the concept is.

Getting things done

Change takes the courage to decide and to act. Better a clear direction today than the perfect analysis in three months.

Costs, organisation and performance together

Sustainable restructuring only works when all three levers interlock – otherwise problems are merely shifted.

Bringing people along

Open communication with the workforce, works council, banks and shareholders is not an add-on but a precondition for any success.

Value through continuous development

Value creation comes from consistent development. Stabilisation is the start – the goal is a company that moves forward on its own strength.

Clear direction for international teams

International teams need clear direction and entrepreneurial leadership – in Germany, Poland, Hungary and Morocco just as earlier in Italy and China.

“Change takes the courage to get things done instead of endlessly debating.”
